Resources for Connecticut Teachers

Welcome to CEA's resource section for the Common Core State Standards. This website has been designed by teachers to help teachers understand the recently adopted standards and provide resources to help you help your students excel.

Connecticut Common Core Professional Learning Mini-Grant

All certified teachers in your district are eligible to apply for a one-time grant designed to deepen professional knowledge and practice of the Connecticut Core Standards and the instructional shifts that support them. The Professional Learning Mini-Grants (ranging from $500 to $2,000 depending on the number of participants in each application) are a result of Governor Malloy's Common Core Implementation Task Force recommendations to increase teachers' understanding of the Connecticut Core Standards in English Language Arts/Literacy and Mathematics and how these standards may be applied across any content area.

The Common Core State Standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them. The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers. With American students fully prepared for the future, our communities will be best positioned to compete successfully in the global economy.
